Busy week ahead at Lucas Oil Speedway, beginning with Wednesday Midweek Madness

WHEATLAND, MO. (July 18, 2022) - Racing fans have plenty to choose from at Lucas Oil Speedway this week with a variety of action scheduled, beginning with a special Wednesday Midweek Madness program.

Cars that normally don't get to race at the speedway - Legend cars, Pure Stocks, Midwest Mods and USRA Tuners - will be in action at the week-night show. All four classes will run $300-to-win main events.

While Midwest Mods and Pure Stocks have run occasionally as guest classes over the last few years and the USRA Tuners are part of the USRA Nationals, the Legend cars will be racing at Wheatland for the first time since about 2008.

The Legends are scaled-down versions of 1934 or '37 Fords or '37 Chevrolets, coupes or sedans. The cars may look similar to some of the Vintage cars that have competed at Lucas Oil Speedway, but they are different.

Around 30 Legend cars are expected from at least seven states, said Legend cars driver and parts dealer for the class, which is intended to have all the cars built and powered identically. An expected entrant sure to draw attention is Keelan Harvick, 10-year-old son of NASCAR star Kevin Harvick.

Gates open at 4 p.m. with hot laps at 6:30 and opening ceremonies at 7.
