Lucas Oil Late Model Series Reopening events at Lucas Oil Speedway called off due to wet weather forecast
WHEATLAND, Missouri (May 10, 2020) - Due to an unfavorable weather forecast, the opening events of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Reopening Tour, set for this week at Lucas Oil Speedway, have been canceled.
A practice session was scheduled for Monday with races on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series now will add an additional day to Reoepning Tour races at Golden Isles Speedway on Thursday (May 21st) and an additional day, Monday (May 25th) to East Bay Raceway Park. Each of these races will still be fan-less, but will be available for viewing LIVE on LucasOilRacing.tv and for free on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Facebook Page.
The LOLMDS is scheduled to return to Lucas Oil Speedway for a doubleheader this summer, with the rescheduled 28th annual Show-Me 100 Presented by ProtecttheHarvest.com paying $20,000 to win set for July 18 and the 14th annual $12,000-to-win CMH Diamond Nationals on July 19.
Lucas Oil Speedway's season opener of the Big Adventure RV Weekly Championship Series is set for next Saturday, May 16. To insure social distancing in the pit area, the May 16, 23 and 30 weekly programs will be limited to 30 pre-registrations in each division - Pitts Homes USRA Modified, Warsaw Auto Marine & RV ULMA Late Models, O'Reilly Auto Parts Street Stocks and Ozark Golf Cars USRA B-Mods. Pre-registration must be done on Lucas Oil Speedway's MyRacePass site.
The top 15 drivers from 2019 championship points standings will have until noon on Tuesday to preregister via MyRacePass. After noon on May 12th, it will be open registration for each class until 30 spots are filled in each class. Registration will close at 5 p.m. May 15 with the field capped at 30 in each division. The Street Stocks will be the featured class on May 16 with a $750-to-win main event.
Fans will be allowed on Saturday, but social distancing restrictions will be in place.
