USRA Modifieds shoot for $1,000-to-win Saturday - and Moms are admitted free - at Lucas Oil Speedway

By Lyndal Scranton (Wheatland, MO) -- With temperatures on the rise and more weekend sunshine in the forecast, Lucas Oil Speedway returns to action on Saturday with a special Mother's Day Weekend tribute program.

NMI/VMG Marketing Group and Wild Animal Safari team up to present the Big Adventure RV Weekly Racing Series. All Mothers will be admitted FREE, courtesy of NMI/VMG Marketing Group.

"After a super weekend of open-wheel racing, we're excited to welcome back our four weekly divisions," Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Dan Robinson said. "The competition on the race track and the car counts both have been outstanding so far and this week should be more of the same.

"Thanks for NMI/VMG Marketing Group, we're proud to welcome all Moms for a special free night at the speedway."

The Pitts Homes USRA Modified division will be featured, running a special 25-lap, $1,000-to-win main event. The Warsaw Auto Marine & RV ULMA Late Models, Big O Tires Street Stocks and the Ozark Golf Cars USRA B-Mods also will be in action.

After two early April rainouts, the points chases in the Big Adventure RV Weekly Racing Series will begin to settle into a flow this week. With just two weekly programs in the books, there is little separation in any of the divisions after eight different winners in eight feature races so far.

In the Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds, Trevor Latham of Rogers, Arkansas, holds an eight-point lead over four-time reigning track champion Jeff Cutshaw. Latham has a feature win and a runner-up finish in 2018 and Cutshaw already has a win.

The Ozark Golf Cars USRA B-Mods find a tie atop the standings with JC Morton of Springfield and Kris Jackson of Lebanon - both former track champions - at the top. Mike Striegel and Robert Heydenreich Jr. are tied for third, only eight points behind.

David Hendrix of Waynesville paces the Big O Tires Street Stocks with a four-point margin over Brian Schutt. In the Warsaw Auto Marine & RV ULMA Late Models, Aaron Marrant of Richmond is two points clear of both Aaron Poe and Larry Ferris.

Gates on Saturday will open at 4 p.m. with hot laps at 6:30 and opening ceremonies at 7.

Adults (16 and over) $12
Seniors (62 and over/Military) $9
